StartMonkey 200 Battery Jump Starter

The Start Monkey Battery jump starter is the world’s smallest “jump start” system for car batteries. The Start Monkey can reset a standard 12 volt battery between 15 and 20 times before needing to be recharged. The Start Monkey is suitable for use on batteries with up to a 650CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) – you can check your cold cranking amp rating by checking on the top of your car’s battery.

How the Start Monkey Works: 3 Easy Steps

Step 1: Simply attach the jump leads (red to red, black to black) to your 12Volt car battery. The LED indicator will light up green to visually confirm the Start Monkey is charging your flat battery.
Step 2:The StartMonkey will automatically start delivering 200 amps of continuous power.
Step 3: Leave the Start Monkey attached for 5-8 seconds, turn the ignition on your car/boat. Once your car starts, the start monkey will automatically switch off.

The DC output socket on the Start Monkey means you also charge your portable gadgets! Simple connect the your device’s car charger to the DC output. Instant power!

Note: For the average car with a flat battery, firstly ensure the engine battery is 12 volts (if 5 or 24 volts - DO NOT USE with Start Monkey).

Q: Why are diesel cars harder to start than petrol cars?

A: This is due to the compression of a diesel engine. This makes the engine harder to turn over or "crank", hence a higher cranking amp (CCA) required for diesel batteries.

Q: Why is my startmonkey200 not turning on automatically when I connect it to my car battery?

A: Most commonly, this is could be one of two reasons. Firstly the battery is not a 12V battery - the startmonkey200 will interrogate the battery and will not activate if the battery is not 12V. The second cause could be that your battery is completely dead or too flat to be recognised. The startmonkey200 requires a minimum remaining voltage of 6V in the battery to enable it to activate and restart.

Q: How do I know how much charge my startmonkey200 has remaining?

A: Briefly press the on/off button, The LED array will display how much power is remaining. When all four segments are green, the startmonkey200 is fully charged. When three segments are green, the startmonkey200 is 75& charged. When two segments are green, the startmonkey200 is half full (we recommend you recharge when it gets to this level). When the startmonkey200 only has a 1/4 charge left, the last segment will turn red.

Q: What is the maximum size car the startmonkey200 will work with?

A: startmonkey200 will work with 12v batteries with a CCA (Cold Cranking Amp) of up to 650. Generally this will mean up to a 2ltr diesel engine or a 3ltr petrol engine.

Q: When do I need to recharge my startmonkey200?

A: We recommend topping up the startmonkey after every time it is used, this will ansure it is ready when you may need it next. You should also recharge the startmonkey200 every 6 months if it has not been used. If the startmonkey200 is used regularly, we recommend keeping the battery level above half full to enable efficient starting.
