What cables come with my Brunton solar panel?

Your solar panel will include three different cables. First is a cable that includes two alligator clips that can go to the terminals of a 12 volt battery. Second is the 'multi linking cable.' It has 4 adapters on one end that may possibly fit some electronic devices. It's main purpose is so you can link more than one panel together in parallel to increase output to a device. Third, is the Female 12 volt adapter. This adapter resembles a power port/cigarette lighter in a vehicle. It will receive any Male end of a DC charger and supplies the best means of connection to an electronic device.

How long will it take to charge my battery?

You need to know your battery's capacity as well as your charger's output rate. Also, keep in mind that a battery can only be discharged to about 30% before it will not deliver power. Take 70% of your battery's capacity and divide that figure by the output rate of your charger. Say your battery is capable of 1000mAh and your charger outputs 100mAh. 70% of your battery's capacity is 700mAh, so it would take 7 hours (700 divided by 100) to fully charge your battery.

How can I determine if the solar charger will operate or just recharge my electronic device?

Charging devices normally have an output wattage (W) rating displayed in their instruction manuals or on the charger itself, which is typically the maximum output rating. Compare the charging device rating with the input rating of the electronic device you want to operate or charge. Let's say that your solar charger has an output rating of 2 Watts. This means that any electronic devices with an input rating of less than 2 Watts can be operated off the charger in bright sunlight. If the electronic device has an input rating of more than 2 Watts, the charger will only charge the device.
